Happy Mothers' Day

We had a great Mothers' Day on Sunday. We took Kati's Mom and Grandma to a beautiful spot in the Provo, Utah Canyon called Vivian Park. I cooked 3 types of chicken and 3 kinds of hotdogs/brats and also hamburgers. With a few side dishes provided we had a feast fit for a worthy Mother.

The kids have put togther a book for Kati showing our deep gratitude for your insisting on us getting on the road and our now understadning of her great insight. I have attached part of the intro to the book below.

Life is a journey. This is an openly accepted saying but most people acknowledge this statement while pursuing their repetitive mundane daily activities. Kati has created a lifestyle that fully encompass the belief that life is a journey. Risking the looks and whispers of the nah sayers, she has devoted her life to providing experiences to her children in the form of  culture, history and a true sense of empowering freedom.

One 15 October 2007 our family had just finished one of its biggest and most daring garage sales, nearing estate sale proportions, as we sold nearly everything we owned and moved out of our “stick home” and into our RV. We have never looked back and have traveled through all of North America with one mission in mind, to educate ourselves and enjoy what God has given us while learning how best to give back.

The following pages are an accumulation of our adventurous journey and as our journey continues we will continue to add to our pages of life, because “Life Is A Journey”. While the creation of this book began as a Mother’s Day gift to Kati from her family to offer our deepest love and gratitude for the enormous insight and vision she had to do this and especially for the courage and enthusiasm to which she embraced the Journey, it is our hope that these pages can inspire all to enjoy their journey in life, because it is yours to enjoy and whether you chose to enjoy it or not you only get to play this game one time.

Kati we love you and appreciate that desire for adventure and exploration in you. We have enjoyed everyplace you have brought us in the last 19 months and are so excited to keep riding this journey of life with you! You have helped us see that is it not the “Stuff” that makes life good it is the relationships in your life that make it enjoyable. You have given so much away to teach us this and we love you for it. You have lead by example and helped our family learn the value of service and that every single person is important and deserves love and respect. You have brought our family so close, and not just because we are living in an RV, but because you have made us slow down and see each other and that has helped us to truly love each other for what we have seen. You are an amazing Mother. May others find in your actions inspiration to put their family first and not get distracted from that which is most important.
