Subject: Problems with or while RVing
Content: Here, I wanted to start a open dialog for RVers to talk about problems they are having with there RV or while RVing... Now First I will tell you that we are new at owning an Fifth Wheel and we just started full timing it with our 2 kids. So You all might have some good advice for us..So here is our frustration. We have always heard that buying a new RV comes with its own set of problems but of all things to start with, The toilet... Yuck ....Our valve is stuck open or shut. Depending  if we force it open or force it shut. So if we want it shut we have to use a tool to pry it shut.  But we need it open more than shut being that there are 4 of use using the toilet at any given time. It still flushes water through when we push on the flush peddle. So we plan on getting this fixed along with several other things, but in the mean time the smell as I'm sure you can imagine is horrible. We can't figure out if it's because the valve is open and we get the holding tank smell all the time, or there is sediment at the bottom of the tank. Even if our tank says its empty it is unbarable. So we tried the ice in the tank as we traveled to our next destination and it still is smelly beyond belief. Now let me tell you I am use to camping and portipotties but this is like the worst portipottie at one of those public ball fields in 100 degree weather. Well I guess I should tell you that we are in the 100 degree rang where we are now. So I'm sure that doesn't help. Let me ask you all if you find it better to let you tanks be open all the time when your staying in an RV park or do you empty them out every few days. If you leave them open what good does those black tank fresheners do. Don't they just go right into the sewage line? The other question is when you hook up to the water line in parks, does it show on your fresh water guage as full, or does it only draw water as it needs it. When we have our water hooked up it makes a sound all the time around where the pump and fan are in our RV. Is that normal? Thanks for any input. I hope this forum will help anyone else with there problems or questions.
